Troubling the Waters

My love is gone among the darkest suns,
Gone where night is never done,
And life does not touch her tears or trouble time;
Where the poisoned waters of this sad earth
Give way to these dry bones and stones…

A heart is sinking into dampness and a pit,
Amid shadows black and pallor white;
While floating over a distant land;
a broken thought, alone –
travels
Among mists of doubt and despair—

Till time and love and all the unmeasured truths, disperse
And find me cracked and fading under darkened vines,
Where I find her dwelling at the world’s black rim, wailing…
